Thursday...

was rough. I worked a double--morning and lunch shift at the diner. Good thing I didn't wear the new shoes. I picked up my daughter, Natalie, from the sitter and by the time I got home all I could do was collapse on the sofa. But Natalie was hungry. As I got up to make her dinner, I turned on the television and the news was as dreary as ever. Bombs. Guns. Murders. Rapes. I turned the volume down and began humming to myself, the tunes that the grotesque images burned into my brain. Is this the world that Natalie is destined to grow old in? I hope not. Perhaps music will cause another revolution. Perhaps I will not lose all faith in humanity.

The pipes are leaking. I cannot afford a plumber. I placed several buckets around to catch the dripping water. I wish I could give my daughter a better life. Suddenly I feel guilty about the new shoes, but I need to treat myself every now and then. My dream is to wear these shoes around the world...to show my daughter all the beauty that money can't buy. Money. Why is it that the assholes seem to have all the money?

I will make a few extra bucks this weekend, singing with the rock band at the local bar. When i sing, everything seems to melt away. This is my escape. Escape from a reality that I fear I shall never truly escape. Is this my fate?

What the HELL is this?! Geez, what a joke. In fact, it's just insulting. Tori/Elle/Myra/Scarlet, whatever your damn name is today, gimme a break. This is absurd. This is desperate.

On Sundays I spend time with my best friend who is also a single mother. Last Sunday we were in the city (San Francisco) and there was a major anti war protest going on, and we marched with the baby. I feel afraid for the baby's future, I hope things will change.

Keep up the blog.

Hello Pip, I often ask myself the same question about money, why is it that the assholes have all the money?

But then, it's probably the only thing they have and can get.

Don't loose faith in humanity, there's you! :)

Tori has three houses, and hasn't endured a financial struggle since I was in diapers.

havent you people ever heard of fantasy? I mean yeah tori has money, but she also doesnt have four personalities.

you people are the people who as kids dashed the fantasy of cartoons...."oh the coyote would never survive that"

douchebags.

Anonymous said...

People are douchebags because they're not talking to phoney personalities as if they are real?

O...k...

It's ok to treat yourself, Pip. You have to take care of yourself in order to be a good mother.

Why are people getting so upset about something that is supposed to be fun and interesting? No one is forcing you to be in on the hunt. Lighten up!

The definitive line between fantasy and reality is the same line that distinguishes what we choose to believe and what we choose not to believe. Imagination is a beautiful thing. Create, create, create!!!

Hi Pip, if you see Santa could you tell her this: Butterflies consume themselves, they transform their being by eating their own structures. Isn`t that what beauty is about?? Destroying ourselves trying to reach for what we think perfection is? Be it external or internal beauty, we allways kill a part of ourselves to make some others live. So, if we do that to ourselves, why wouldn`t we do that to others. Thereby I define absolute-huwoman-behaviour.
Pip, I know this feeling in you is distracted now by the fact you have a daughter, and motherhood has different ways of war.
Well, glad I met you ... Hope to see you on tour

no, I actually do think Tori has multiple personalities. it's actually a disorder. She's a Native American who resents the white man, yet lives in England with her English husband and is gonna raise her kid English. What? Santa's blog is about beauty from within, yet Tori is botoxed up the wazoo. Pfft, need I go on?

Pip. I am a waitress struggling to slowly pay back my college debt. Although I do not have a child, I do have a voice.

And a shoe problem.
Especially now that spring is near...

I know what it feels like to have to struggle as a waitress...picking up pennies off of tables. What people must think of you as you run around as their servant for a dollar. Yet they probably can't fathom how that same sweet waitress voice and persona can instantly bloom into a loud, hard voice onstage Saturday night in those new shoes.

I personally enjoyed finding you. I enjoy research, hunting, learning. Growing. Letting blood flow.

For all of those who find it "lame" or pointless - I'm finding you all to be quite bizzare, especially of Tori fans. Were you the same people who were ruining my concert experience by getting up and running to the bathroom and bar every 3 minutes, tripping over yourselves instead of watching the show?

Pip, prepare yourself. Some people, as you know,

"can't see what you're born to be

they can't see me

they can't be what they can't

believe

they can't see what you see"

Actually, ask Tori about that one. She may be able to help you understand.

Hang in there, Pip.

I know it's exhasting being part of America's working poor: not only are you denied fair wages, universal health care, safe, affordable childcare and housing, but on top of it all you are blamed for your own poverty and told that you're what's really wrong with America.

But as long as you know all the real reasons you are where you're at, you are already winning.

So keep talking back.
Keep being the strong woman you really are.
Nothing drives them crazier than that.

It is a real struggle in life to wish for the finer things and to not be able to grasp them, no matter how hard one works towards them. We all have dreams...for some...they may come true. No matter what happens in our reality, there isn't a single soul who can take them away from us...Keep dreaming pip...you are not alone.

I have felt the same way for so long, the box is very difined, and when I feel the bathroom tile is closeing in on me, I put her on, and she takes me into myself, I hope to be hearing you soon. your voice, your emotion, and your defiance of powers that say " stay were you are, do not chage anything" it takes the poor to define the rich. do what you know and amplifie that by one thousand, as I was told in a dream-Capitilize on what you know to be true. a friend-Jamespatrick.

The news these days are always filled with bad tidings. We find ourselves stressed and overwhelmed at times. We must remember that things are not as bad as the media perpetuates. We are lucky to be alive in 2007. The only misfortune is that we have an idiot for a president! As a gay man, the direction fo this country frightens me to Pip!

i can't believe people are talking to a marketing ploy as if it were a real person. Monsanto should try this to drum up support for aspartame flavoured terminator seeds!

Yeah, I have to say that I am kinda skeptical of all these "personalities"...ah well.
